Job Description
CIFORD Kenya is seeking a skilled and passionate Vocational Trainer (Welding & Metalwork) to support training at our Vocational Training Centre. The successful candidate will equip trainees with practical, industry-relevant welding and metal fabrication skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurship.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver theoretical and hands-on training in welding and metal fabrication
- Train learners in ARC, MIG, and basic gas welding techniques
- Guide trainees in metal cutting, fabrication, fitting, and finishing
- Ensure workshop safety, proper use of tools, and PPE compliance
- Prepare training plans, lesson notes, and practical assessments
- Mentor trainees on work ethics, entrepreneurship, and employability skills
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper workshop organization
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Welding, Metal Fabrication, or a related field
- Proven practical experience in welding and metalwork
- Previous training or teaching experience is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of workshop safety standards
- Good communication and learner mentorship skills
- Passion for youth skills development and vocational training
