In the arid landscapes of Lairangi village, Julius found hope amidst adversity through indigenous poultry farming. Despite facing the harsh realities of erratic rainfall and crop failure, Julius, a member of Tumaini Self Help group, turned to poultry as a lifeline. However, his initial efforts were fraught with challenges – from disease outbreaks to the complexities of breeding.
Enter CIFORD Kenya, a beacon of knowledge and empowerment for rural communities. With their guidance, Julius embarked on a transformative journey. Through comprehensive training on poultry management, disease control, and breeding techniques, Julius not only saved his flock but also watched it flourish. From a modest beginning with just eight chickens, Julius now tends to a thriving flock of 55, empowered to sell surplus birds to fund his son’s education.
