Leah Makena is a Form One Student at Muthara Day Secondary. Leah knew about CIFORD when her mother, a member of Mwerondu Women group went with an invitation for the girls to go for alternative rite of passage. This time Leah was a shy village girl who was in Class 8 and could not stand and talk inform of people.
“After the training we got, I started understand that I can be able to achieve what I want but my mind was not clear what I wanted to purse” Leah said. “I also built my courage though fear was a lot”
‘I was lucky to be selected to join the girls for leaders’ project which is building our capacity to be strong leaders. “I am now clear that I want to work hard and become a renowned Dentist in our Country. I love smiling and I wish to make many to smile”
Leah confesses that a self-esteem and courage has greatly improved from the seminars she has attended and she is sure by the time she is through with her Secondary school she will be confident and also join university to be a Dentist.
