Nicholas Mutethia is a 12 year old young boy, son to Mr. Tongai Joseph and Mrs. Mukweyi Agnes from Twale village, Akithi ward in Tigania West constituency within Meru County. Mutethia schools in Twale primary in class 6. Currently is at home on an indefinite break heeding to the president’s order to have all learning institutions closed down as the country grabbles with COVID-19 pandemic. Nicholas is a beneficiary of CIFORD’s young adolescents’ seminar where the Boys are empowered at a tender age about the social ethos that contributes immensely in shaping them into responsible people.
Mama Agnes told us that Mutethia changed for the better from August 2019 having undergone the training at CIFORD’s Centre, he is now able to carry out home chores with ease unlike before where he could be adamant when called upon to. His performance improved exponentially in school, featuring among the best top 10 students in his class, something that we never saw coming
’’ Thanks to CIFORD-KENYA for not only touching the life of my son but also the other children a stone throw away from us, who I’ve seen myself how their discipline has changed. They are now able to address adults with utmost respect.’’
These were the parting words from Mr. Tongai, Nicholas’ dad.
